| Thank you for joining us at A Perfect Blend Tea Room.
In earlier times, milk was poured in
the cup before tea to keep the cup from cracking. Today, china is better
and stronger. Milk is an emulsion and tea is a solvent and some people
recommend pouring the milk in first for better blending and prevent scalding
of the fat in the milk. So milk first or tea? That's up to you. The Queen
of England adds milk after he tea has been poured.

Is it pronounced scones or scones? That
depends in what part of the world you live! A scone is a tea biscuit taken
with curd, jam, or clotted cream. It is believed that the scone originated
in Scotland and is named after the Stone of Scone. Clotted cream is a milk
product that is semi-smooth in consistency and is referred to as Devon
cream or Devonshire cream and derives its name from Devon, England.

Don't use your pinkie! It is believed
that in the 11th century people ate with their fingers. In order to distinguish
themselves from the peasants, people of nobility began extending their
pinkies. Today, the practice of raising your pinkie while drinking a cup
of tea is considered snobbish. If you want to be considered well-mannered,
don't raise your pinkie!
